Walking Holidays in the Algarve, Portugal

From our Quinta Casa Monchique you can start your walking holidays in the middle of the beautiful rural area of ' Serra de Monchique',  just 30 km from the south- and westcoast.

This natural area with the cleanest air in Europe has many birds in spring and has a prefect climate for walking adventures in spring and autumn. During these walkingtrips from 8 days you will stay in our Quinta (Bed & Breakfast) in one of our rooms or tents which are ready for your stay. All rooms & tents are decorated and furnished for 2 persons with comfortable beds and common facilities.

There are 6 beautiful walkingroutes in the area of Serra the Monchique with walkingguides if neccesary. These have a diifferent caracter with nice views, in the middle of nature and along rivers and lakes through mountains and valleys with lots of fresh air. It is also possible to walk the ´Via Algarviana´, also known as the Grand Route nr. 13. This route is based on an old pilgimpath and passes several small villages and old cities.

Visit local medronho distilleries, olive press, cork factories, honey producers, all depending on the season and time of year.

Next to these 6 routes, we have several smaller routes with exploring and very well for individual trips. With geocaching (treasure hunting) you can enjoy your walkingadventures even more!

Global dayprogramme:

After breakfast you will leave for your first leg of the trip. This walk will pass a local place to enjoy lunch in a restaurant of at a picknick site with lunch provided. In the afternoon you will do the 2nd part of the trip and after arrival at the destination, you will be picked up to return to the Quinta.
At oiur Quinta we serve a daily fresh 3 course menu, sometimes prepared together. In the evening you can relax and enjoy at the terrace or swimmingpool or just surf the internet to check your email or prepare for the next day.

From  1st of February till 15 of may a maximum of 6 persons can join these walkingholidays. From 15th of may till the end of september a maximum of 8 persons can join.

These walking holidays are available from 580 euro per person, depending on the number of participants, including, accomodation, transfers to the airport of Faro and transport to and from the walking locations. Exclusive flight to and from Faro airport.
Car rental is possible from 105 ewuro per week, depending of the seazon, exluding 10% service fee.
